Amber Beswitherick chooses King's Women's Rugby

Women’s rugby has continued to reinforce the roster ahead of the 2022-23 ACAA season, signing Amber Beswitherick of Bedford, N.S.

Beswitherick is a student-athlete at Charles P. Allen High School and is a crucial component of the Cheetah’s rugby program, serving as the team’s assistant captain. Experienced at the wing and centre positions, Beswitherick plays club rugby with Riverlake RFC and the Nova Scotia Keltics program. She will be a valuable asset to the Blue Devils in the back row.

For Beswitherick, the tandem of athletics and academics was a key consideration in her decision for university.

“I chose King’s because I’ve seen and heard great things about the women’s rugby team, as well as the school having smaller class sizes and more personalized teaching,” she says. “I am so excited to play for this team! I can’t wait to learn and grow as a player with these amazing girls and wonderful coach.”

Beswitherick joins fellow rookie Myra Henry of N.B. in the incoming recruiting class.

While representing Blue Devils on the rugby pitch, Beswitherick intends on studying in the Foundation Year Program.
