Blue Devils Badminton stay perfect in New Brunswick

King’s Badminton have stayed top of the ACAA standings, securing their second consecutive tournament win of the regular season. On the road at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB, the Blue Devils amassed 115 total points to see out the win. The hosting Mounties tallied 102 points for a second place finish, while Dal AC finished with 49 and St. Anne finished with 16.

The King’s squad ran the table in the first division of each category and finished runner-up in all but Women’s Doubles. Aidan Badcock-Parks and Anna Gillies topped mixed-doubles, followed by Jack Ronahan and Fiona Purdy. Gillies and Purdy also won the women’s doubles category. Bryce Mason and Jack Ronahan finished first in men’s doubles, ahead of second-place Jack Gillies and the Badcock-Parks. In the singles divisions, Gillies and Purdy finished 1st and 2nd respectively for the women, while Mason and Ronahan finished top for the men.

Now finished for the Fall semester, the Blue Devils have to feel positive about their start to the ACAA campaign. The King’s side should be well-place in the first edition of the CCAA National rankings and the return of player-coach Sam White in the second semester will add further steel to an already well-fortified roster. King’s will now have a lengthy wait taking the court again on January 15 and 16 when they host the rest of the conference’s teams in their lone home tournament of the season.
