Legault sisters reunite with UKC Women's Volleyball

King’s Women’s Volleyball have completed the signing of outside hitter Avalon Legault of Calgary, Alta. A 5’8 left-side hitter, Avalon represents Lions Volleyball Club and the Calgary Christian High School Cougars, winning the 2A provincial high school title in 2023.

Avalon is the younger sister of UKC Volleyball’s Kaitlyn Legault, who just finished a tremendous sophomore season, with King’s winning their first ACAA title, and being recognized as the ACAA Player of the Year and a CCAA All-Canadian.

“I chose King’s because I know that it will be a very big, necessary step towards my future career, and my independence. Through friends, family and other connections, I have heard nothing but praise about the campus, courses and environment of King’s,” says (Avalon) Legault.

“In combination with my inclination to experience life away from home, my passion for volleyball and science, I knew that King’s would be a good choice for my post-secondary experience. I have always wanted to live at, or at least visit, Halifax on the coast, as well as pursue post-secondary athletics, to continue my journey playing volleyball. I am very excited to come down and experience a new environment, and work my hardest to earn a spot on the team!”

While playing for the Blue Devils, Avalon intends to study in the Bachelor of Science program, with an interest in pursuing studies in Biology or Chemistry.

Top right: Kaitlyn (L) & Avalon (R) at CCAA Women’s Volleyball Nationals in Red Deer, Alta.
